Located in Péronne, France, the Australian 2nd Division Memorial at Mont St Quentin stands as a tribute to the Australian soldiers of the 2nd Division who participated in the Battle of Mont St Quentin during World War I. This battle, part of the Allied Hundred Days Offensive, saw the Australians capture the German stronghold at Mont St Quentin in a determined attack from August 29 to September 2, 1918. The victory came at a heavy cost, with 3,000 Australian casualties. The memorial is located on the Bapaume-Péronne road (D1017). The pedestal includes bronze bas-reliefs by May Butler-George, depicting soldiers in combat.
