Walking
From the center of Wazemmes, head south on Rue Jean-Baptiste Lebas towards Rue de la République. Continue straight until you reach Place de la République. From there, turn left onto Rue de l'Hôpital Militaire, which will lead you directly into Parc de la Citadelle. Follow the path through the park until you reach the entrance of Citadelle de Lille, located at Avenue du 43e régiment d'infanterie. This walk should take approximately 20-25 minutes.
Public Transport (Bus)
From Wazemmes, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is 'Wazemmes' on Avenue du Peuple Belge. Take bus line 5 towards 'Cité Scientifique - Professeur Gabillard'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop 'Citadelle'. From the bus stop, it's a short 5-minute walk to the Citadelle de Lille, following the signs through the park. A single bus ticket costs around €1.60.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing stations in Wazemmes. Cycle along Rue de la République towards the Parc de la Citadelle. Once you reach the park, follow the dedicated bike paths leading to Citadelle de Lille. This route should take around 10-15 minutes. Make sure to check if your bike rental requires a deposit or any fees.
