Metro
If you are near the Lyon Part-Dieu train station, take Metro Line B towards Jean Macé. After two stops, get off at the 'Bellecour' station. From there, transfer to Metro Line A towards Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie and ride for one stop. Get off at 'Cordeliers Bourse'. Exit the station and walk straight towards Rue de la République. Place de la République will be on your left, just a short walk away.
Tram
If you are near the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall), take Tram Line T1 towards Debourg. Get off at the 'Place des Jacobins' stop. From there, walk along Rue de la République in the direction of the river. Place de la République is approximately a 10-minute walk ahead on your right.
Walking
If you are starting from the famous basilica, Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière, head down the steps towards the 'Vieux Lyon' area. Walk towards Rue Saint-Jean and then continue straight to Rue de la République. After about a 20-minute walk, you will reach Place de la République. You will see the large fountain as you approach.
Bus
If you are at the Lyon Perrache bus station, take Bus 48 towards La Doua. Get off at the 'République' stop. From there, walk straight down Rue de la République, and you will arrive at Place de la République in just a few minutes.
