Getting There

• Public Transportation

  From Nîmes, head to the Nîmes train station (Gare de Nîmes). You can walk there from the city center or take a local bus if needed. Once at the train station, purchase a ticket to Arles. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Arles train station, exit the station and look for bus line 1 (Direction: Arles, Les Baux de Provence) or bus line 3 (Direction: Arles, Fontvieille). Get off at the stop 'Abbaye de Montmajour'. From the bus stop, it is a short 5-minute walk to the Abbaye de Montmajour. Follow the signs to the abbey, which is located at Rte de Fontvieille, 13280 Arles.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Nîmes. Start from the city center and follow the D999 road towards Arles. This route is approximately 20 kilometers and will take about 1.5 hours. Upon reaching Arles, follow the signs to Abbaye de Montmajour, which is located along Route de Fontvieille. Be sure to ride safely and follow local traffic rules.

• Walking

  For the adventurous, walking from Nîmes to Abbaye de Montmajour is possible but will take around 4-5 hours. Start by heading northwest towards the D999 road. Follow the D999 towards Arles, which is a straight path. Once you reach Arles, continue to follow signs to Abbaye de Montmajour. This route is scenic but be prepared with water and snacks as it is a long journey.
