Getting there

Walking

If you're starting from the central train station, Gare de Nîmes, exit the station and head towards Rue de la République. Walk straight along this road for about 1.2 kilometers until you reach the Place d'Assas. Continue straight onto Rue de la République, passing by several shops and cafes. After about 5 minutes, you will see the impressive Maison Carrée ahead in the Place de la Maison Carrée. It should take approximately 15-20 minutes to walk.

Public Transport (Bus)

From the central train station, Gare de Nîmes, you can take Bus Line 1 (direction 'Cévennes') from the bus stop located right outside the station. Get off at the stop 'Maison Carrée,' which is just a few stops away. The bus ride takes around 10 minutes. Once you get off, you'll find yourself right in front of Maison Carrée.

Walking

If you are near the famous Arena of Nîmes (Les Arènes), exit the arena and head towards Rue de la République. Walk along this street for about 600 meters, and you will arrive at the Place de la Maison Carrée, where the monument is located. This should take you around 8-10 minutes on foot.

From the Jardins de la Fontaine, a beautiful park in Nîmes, exit the park through the main entrance and turn right onto Rue de la République. Walk straight for about 800 meters, and you will reach the Place de la Maison Carrée. The walk will take approximately 10-12 minutes.
