Getting There

• Metro

  To reach Maison de Victor Hugo, take the Paris Métro Line 1. Board the train at the nearest station, which could be Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre or Châtelet. Travel towards the direction of Château de Vincennes. Get off at the station Bastille. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to Rue de la Bastille and head towards Place des Vosges. It’s a short 10-minute walk. As you walk, keep right when you reach Boulevard Richard Lenoir, continue straight until you reach Place des Vosges, where the museum is located at number 6.

• Bus

  You can also take the bus to Maison de Victor Hugo. Look for bus lines 20, 65, or 86. If you are near the Louvre, catch bus line 20 from Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre towards Gare Saint-Lazare. Get off at the stop 'Place des Vosges.' From there, it's just a short walk to 6 Pl. des Vosges, where the museum is located.

• Walking

  If you're already in the Marais district, you might consider walking to Maison de Victor Hugo. Start at the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall), and walk along Rue de Rivoli heading east. At the intersection with Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, turn left and continue to Place des Vosges. The museum is located at number 6 on the square. This walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the city’s bike-sharing services like Vélib. Find a nearby station and grab a bike. Head towards Place des Vosges by following Rue de Rivoli and then turning onto Rue des Francs-Bourgeois. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. There are bike lanes available for a safer ride.
