Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from any town in the Pays Basque region, take the A63 motorway towards Biarritz. Once you reach Biarritz, exit at junction 4 and follow the signs for 'Centre Ville' and 'Plage'. Continue on Avenue de la République, which becomes Avenue Edouard VII. Follow this road until you reach Esplanade Elisabeth II. The Phare de Biarritz is located at 60B Espl. Elisabeth II, 64200 Biarritz. Look for the lighthouse at the end of the esplanade. There is paid parking available nearby, so keep some coins or a credit card handy for parking fees.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Phare de Biarritz via public transportation, take a train to Biarritz from any main station in the Pays Basque region. Once you arrive at Biarritz train station, exit the station and catch bus line 2 towards 'Lycée Jules Supervielle'. Get off the bus at the 'Phare' stop. From there, it is a short walk (approximately 5 minutes) to the Phare de Biarritz located at 60B Espl. Elisabeth II. The bus ticket costs around €1.50, and trains vary in price depending on your starting location.

• Walking

  If you are already in Biarritz, you can enjoy a pleasant walk to the Phare de Biarritz. Start from the Grande Plage and walk along the coast on the Promenade. Follow the path up the hill towards the lighthouse, which is visible from the beach. The walk is approximately 1.5 km and takes about 20 minutes. This route offers stunning views of the ocean and the city. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as some parts can be steep.
