Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the historic city center of Saint-Malo (Intra-Muros), make your way to the main entrance of the city at 'Porte Saint-Vincent'. From there, head southeast towards the beach. After crossing the road, continue straight along the promenade 'Promenade du Sillon' which runs parallel to the beach. Follow the promenade for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the 'Château du Sillon'. The National Fort is located just off the coast near this point. Look for a path leading towards the water and follow it to reach the fort.

    From the Saint-Malo train station, take bus line 3 towards 'Saint-Malo - La gare' and get off at 'Sillon'. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Once you disembark, walk towards the coastline, and you will see the National Fort directly in front of you. Follow the coastal promenade ('Promenade du Sillon') towards the fort.
