The Kurhaus Baden-Baden, a dazzling architectural gem, stands as a testament to the elegance and history of this renowned spa town. Since 1824, this complex has been the epicenter of Baden-Baden's social life, attracting day-trippers, spa guests, gamblers, and locals alike. The Kurhaus was designed by Friedrich Weinbrenner in the neoclassical style, characterized by its Corinthian columns and paired-griffins frieze. The building is divided into three main sections: the central Weinbrenner Hall, the southern wing with the Kurhaus Restaurant and Bénazet Hall, and the northern wing, home to the legendary Casino Baden-Baden. The casino gained international fame in the mid-1830s when gambling was outlawed in France, drawing gamblers across the border to try their luck. Marlene Dietrich famously declared it "the most beautiful casino in the world". Throughout its history, the Kurhaus has hosted numerous significant events, including international gatherings, Olympic Congresses, and NATO summits. Today, the Kurhaus continues to host a variety of events, from concerts and gala balls to conferences and meetings. Visitors can explore the building's opulent halls, try their luck at the casino, stroll through the immaculate Kurhaus gardens, and enjoy the stylish shops along the Kurhaus colonnades.
