Toulouse Plage: Urban Beach Fun on the Garonne

Toulouse Plage is an annual summer event that brings a beach-like atmosphere to the heart of Toulouse. Held on the Prairie des Filtres, a park along the Garonne River, this event offers a unique urban beach experience for those who can't make it to the coast. For over 20 years, Toulouse Plage has been organized by the city of Toulouse, with the support of local associations, turning the city into a playground and relaxation zone. The event typically runs from late July to late August, offering free access to a variety of activities. Visitors can relax on deck chairs and enjoy the feeling of sand between their toes, or participate in sports like beach volleyball, badminton, and other recreational activities. There are designated areas for children, water games, and spaces for wellness activities. In 2025, Toulouse Plage will take place from July 21st to August 24th. The Prairie des Filtres itself is a popular urban park offering green lawns, flowerbeds, and pathways. Throughout the year, the park hosts various cultural events, concerts, and community gatherings. During Toulouse Plage, the park is transformed with sand, water features, and various activity zones. Visitors can also enjoy the views of the Garonne River and the city's landmarks. Toulouse Plage also extends to other locations, including La Ramée Plage and the Reynerie nautical base, offering supervised swimming, kayaking, sailing, and open-air evening events. Port Viguerie features a Ferris wheel, a guinguette (open-air café), and boat rentals.
