Taxi
From Vaitape, the main town on Bora Bora, a taxi to Matira Beach costs approximately 2000 XPF (around $20 USD) and takes about 10 minutes. It's advisable to book a return taxi in advance, as they are not always readily available at the beach.
Bicycle
Matira Beach is about 8 km (4 miles) from Vaitape, making it a pleasant bike ride. The road is mostly flat, but be sure to bring water, especially during the hotter parts of the day. Bike rentals are available in Vaitape.
Public Transport
A shuttle runs between Vaitape and Matira Beach. The fare is around $5 USD. Check local schedules for current operating times.
Car
If you have rented a car, Matira Beach is easily accessible by following the main coastal road south from Vaitape. Parking is available near the InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort and at the opposite end of the beach. Parking is free.
Boat Shuttle & Taxi
If arriving at a resort on a motu (small island), take the resort's boat shuttle to Vaitape. This service is typically complimentary for guests. From Vaitape, proceed to Matira Beach by taxi (2000 XPF) or rental car.
