The Blue Lagoon is accessible only by boat, typically from Avatoru, the main village in Rangiroa. Several tour operators offer full-day excursions to the Blue Lagoon, including transportation. The boat trip takes approximately one hour. Tour costs range from 12,000 XPF (approx. 100 EUR) for adults and 6,000 XPF (approx. 50 EUR) for children. These tours usually include lunch, snorkeling gear, and guided activities.
Taxi
If arriving at Rangiroa Airport (RGI), take a taxi to the Avatoru marina to meet your tour boat. The airport is located approximately 5.5 km southeast of Avatoru. A taxi ride from the airport to Avatoru costs around 1,500 XPF base fee, plus 130 XPF per kilometer, totaling approximately 2,215 XPF. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
