Getting There

  • Air Travel

    Most visitors arrive at Rangiroa Airport (RGI) via a 50-minute direct flight from Papeete, Tahiti. Air Tahiti and Air Moana operate these flights. From the airport, pre-arranged transfers with your accommodation are common. Alternatively, taxis are available. A 5km taxi ride from the airport to accommodations will cost around 651 XPF.

  • Bicycle

    Many accommodations offer complimentary bicycles. From accommodations in Avatoru or near Tiputa Pass, most attractions are easily accessible by cycling along the main road. Gauguin's Pearl farm is approximately 5km northeast of the main intersection on Route de l'Atoll. Bicycles can be rented for approximately 1,800 XPF per day.

  • Water Taxi

    To travel from Avatoru to Tiputa village, water taxis ('Maurice Navette') operate daily from 6am to 5pm across the Tiputa Pass. Check with your hotel for current schedules and fares. This is a convenient way to experience Tiputa village and potentially spot dolphins from the water.
