Getting There

    Start at the central square of Akhaltsikhe, near the Rabati Castle. From the square, head south on Gamsakhurdia Street for about 700 meters until you reach the intersection with Tsereteli Street. Turn left onto Tsereteli Street and continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer. You will pass the local market on your right. After reaching the roundabout, take the first exit onto Tbilisi Street. Walk for another 500 meters until you see a bus stop on your right. Here, take a marshrutka (minibus) heading towards Chitakhevi. The ride will take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Chitakhevi, disembark at the stop closest to the R865 road. From this point, walk along the R865 road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Mtsvane Monastery, which will be on your left. Look for signs indicating the monastery along the way.

  • Public Transport (Marshrutka)

    From the main bus station in Akhaltsikhe, find a marshrutka heading towards Chitakhevi. The station is located near the central square. Purchase a ticket from the driver or at the ticket booth. The marshrutka ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Chitakhevi, get off at the stop that is closest to the R865 road. Walk along the R865 road for about 1.5 kilometers, and you will see Mtsvane Monastery on your left. Ensure you check the schedule as the marshrutkas may not run frequently.

  • Cycling

    If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Rabati Castle in Akhaltsikhe. Cycle south on Gamsakhurdia Street for about 700 meters to the intersection with Tsereteli Street.
