Getting There

• Walking

  Start your journey from the center of Akhaltsikhe, specifically from the Rabati Castle. Head east on Gamsakhurdia Street. Walk straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Tamar Mephe Street. Turn left onto Tamar Mephe Street and continue walking for approximately 500 meters, passing by local shops and cafes. Once you reach the roundabout, take the second exit onto Tsereteli Street. Follow Tsereteli Street for another 1 kilometer, and you will find yourself at the outskirts of Akhaltsikhe. From here, the path to Chao viewpoint will require a bit of navigation, as it is located in Zamleti, about 5 kilometers away from the city center. You may consider asking locals for directions or using a mobile map application to guide you along the path as you walk towards Zamleti.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Akhaltsikhe. Start from the Rabati Castle and head east on Gamsakhurdia Street. After about 1 kilometer, turn left onto Tamar Mephe Street. Continue for 500 meters until you reach the roundabout, where you will take the second exit onto Tsereteli Street. Ride along Tsereteli Street for approximately 1 kilometer. Once you are nearing the outskirts of Akhaltsikhe, you will need to navigate towards Zamleti, which is about 5 kilometers from the city center. Use your mobile map to ensure a smooth ride to Chao viewpoint, keeping in mind that the route may include some unpaved paths.

• Public Transport

  From the main bus station in Akhaltsikhe, take a local minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Zamleti. Make sure to confirm with the driver that the bus goes to Zamleti. The ride should take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Zamleti, disembark and ask locals for directions to Chao viewpoint, as it is a popular spot nearby. It may require a short walk from the bus stop to reach the viewpoint.
