The language of the tour was listed as English, however it was bilingual in English & Russian - that was really very tiring overall. The guide Ika was great nonetheless. You could really feel how much he loves his job. He has enormous knowledge of the country's history and conveyed it with a lot of humor. In Borjomi, there was an hour of free time at the beginning of the tour. In Vardzia, there was a tour by the local tour guide. However, for time reasons, you do not walk through all areas, which is a real shame. In Rabati, there was again an hour of free time with the option to hire a local guide for the visit. Since I didn't want to see Rabati anyway, it was great that you could also just pass the time in a café. It was possible to stay in Akhaltsikhe or Borjomi at the end of the tour and not drive back to Tbilisi.

Great program, knowledgeable guides, approachable owner Zurab who is doing everything to keep you satisfied. You really will get the essence of everything you need to see. As trip to Kazbegi and the trip to Vardzia are quite intense and long I recommend to put a day free in between - USHBA travel and Mr Zurab will follow your mood :-) I strongly recommend to choose this operator ! You will experience and see a lot of different and interesting places . Also in Rabati I recommend you to buy additional ticket to see the inner courtyard of the palace and other objects . For the food follow the guide recommendations- they know best !

I had Temo as a guide. He was very knowlege able and accommodating, due to the early start time I mentioned how I wasn't able to get any breakfast or coffee so he was able to find a convenience store for me to fuel up. One thing I noticed with some of the other guides in Georgia is they give you some history and then leave you alone to wander yourself. This was not the case with Temo which I appreciated, he goes in (and up) so he can point out things you might not notice and explain the history behind them. He'll also stop by the good places to see photos and will take any photos you may want. I was able to ask him a lot of history questions and he'll be as frank with what he knows. You can tell he really cares about his country and making sure people have a good impression of his country and people. He also pays attention a lot so he'll carefully step out of the way when you're taking photos or wait until you wake up to finish giving the history. ( Unfortunately, I get highway hypnosis easily.) During the first day due to some heavy rainfall and us needing to get to Rabati before the castle closed we unfortunately missed Borjomi and the green monetary. But for the second day he was able to give me options of going a new route and seeing the more scenic way back to Tbilisi or to go back so I could see those 2. He won't push you either way, but he'll give you enough information so you can make that decision for yourself. When he dropped me off in Tbilisi, I didn't realize that my guest house was cash only so even though it was late he was kind enough to help bring me to an ATM so I could pay for the guest house.
