After approximately 25 kilometers, look for the signs for Vardzia and take the exit towards the village of Gogasheni. Follow the road for about 15 kilometers until you reach the Vardzia complex. Make sure to park in the designated parking area upon arrival. Note that there may be a small entrance fee to access the site.

    To reach Vardzia using public transportation, start by taking a marshrutka (minibus) from Ozurgeti to Aspindza. Marshrutkas leave regularly from the central bus station in Ozurgeti, and the fare is usually around 2 GEL. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Aspindza, you can either take a taxi to Vardzia, which should cost around 10 GEL, or if you're feeling adventurous, you can hike the remaining distance of approximately 7 kilometers, following the signs towards Gogasheni. Be sure to check the return schedules for marshrutkas to ensure you can get back to Ozurgeti.
