Getting There

Car
From Khevi, head southeast on the main road (E117). Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the village of Pasanauri. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Birtvisi Fortress. After passing through Pasanauri, take a right turn onto a smaller road which leads towards the fortress. The road becomes narrower and may require careful driving. Continue for about 5 km until you reach the parking area near the foot of the fortress.

From Khevi, take a marshrutka (minibus) heading towards Tbilisi. Get off at Pasanauri, which is about 30 km away. From Pasanauri, you can either hike to Birtvisi Fortress (approximately 60 minutes walk) or hire a local taxi to take you directly to the fortress entrance for around 10-15 GEL. If hiking, follow the signs leading to the fortress, which will be marked along the trail.
