Car
From Khevi, take the road leading south towards Aspindza. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will see a sign for Vardzia. Turn right and continue for about 5 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Vardzia. Make sure to check the road conditions as some parts may be winding and narrow.
Public Transportation
From Khevi, you can take a marshrutka (minibus) heading towards Aspindza. The marshrutkas usually depart from the central bus station. The journey takes about 40 minutes. After reaching Aspindza, you can either take a taxi to Vardzia (approximately 10 kilometers away) or check if there are local buses available that head towards Vardzia.
Taxi
If you’re in Khevi and prefer a direct route, consider hiring a taxi. You can find taxis near major hotels or call for one. The ride to Vardzia will take around 30 minutes and typically costs between 30-50 GEL. It's advisable to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
Walking
If you are adventurous and nearby, you can hike towards Vardzia from Aspindza. The trek is about 10 kilometers and can take approximately 2-3 hours. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry enough water. The trail offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
