If you're driving from Tbilisi, take the E117 highway heading southeast. After approximately 70 km, exit onto the road towards Udabno. Continue for about 20 km on the local road until you reach the David Gareji monastery, which is located at coordinates 41.4473406, 45.3764547. There is a parking area available near the monastery.

Public Transportation
To reach David Gareji monastery via public transport, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Didube Bus Station in Tbilisi heading towards Sagarejo. The fare is typically around 2 GEL. Once you arrive in Sagarejo, take a taxi or arrange for a private driver to take you the remaining 25 km to the monastery. Taxi fares might range from 15 to 30 GEL depending on negotiation.

If you prefer to hike, the last part of the journey involves a walking trail from the parking area near the monastery. The trail is well-marked and takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the monastery itself, providing beautiful views along the way.
