Driving
From Tbilisi, drive southwest towards Marneuli. Continue past Marneuli following signs for Samshvilde. The drive takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Parking is available near the fortress entrance. Be aware that the road leading directly to the site can be rough in sections. Parking is free.
Public Transport
Take a marshrutka (minibus) from Tbilisi's central bus station (near Didube metro station) to Marneuli. From Marneuli, hire a taxi to Samshvilde. The marshrutka fare is approximately 3-5 GEL, and the taxi from Marneuli to Samshvilde may cost around 20-30 GEL. Confirm the price with the driver before starting the taxi journey.
