    Discover more about MoMA Tbilisi

The Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art, also known as MoMA Tbilisi, is dedicated to showcasing the diverse works of Zurab Tsereteli, a celebrated Georgian sculptor, painter, and architect. The museum's collection includes over 300 pieces, offering a comprehensive view of Tsereteli's avant-garde and national art. The museum is located in a beautifully converted building that was once the Tiflis Cadet Corps, a prestigious institution whose graduates were granted entry into any higher education institution without entrance exams. The Cadet Corps used the building from 1882 until 1909, after which it was renovated. During the Soviet era, the building served various purposes, including housing the Electrical Equipment Institute, a dormitory, a kindergarten, and a bank. In 2005, Zurab Tsereteli initiated the building's restoration with the intention of establishing his museum, which opened its doors to the public in 2012. Inside, visitors can explore a range of Tsereteli's creations, from large-scale sculptures to colorful paintings and intricate enamel works. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions, providing a platform for other modern artists. In addition to its exhibits, MoMA Tbilisi features a children's corner, a gift shop, and a conference hall for special events and art evenings. A restaurant with a patio allows patrons to admire Tsereteli's artwork while dining.
