Zoological Center Bears Sanctuary: A Haven for Rescued Bears

Nestled in the picturesque hills of Tskhvarichamia, near Tbilisi, the Zoological Center Bears Sanctuary is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating bears, offering a safe and nurturing environment for these animals. Founded in 2010, the sanctuary provides a home to bears, many of whom were rescued from restaurants, roadsides, or other situations where they were kept in captivity under poor conditions. Visitors can observe the bears in large enclosures designed to mimic their natural habitat and learn about the various species and the challenges they face in the wild. The sanctuary also houses other animals, including wolves and dogs. The peaceful surroundings and sounds of nature create an ideal atmosphere for reflection and connection with the environment. The sanctuary emphasizes the importance of protecting animals from illegal poaching and habitat destruction, making it a perfect place to foster a deeper appreciation for wildlife. The sanctuary is open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM. The entrance fee is 5 GEL per person. You can also purchase apples to feed the bears.
