If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Akhaltsikhe, which is approximately 20 km from Khertvisi Fortress. Take the E691 road heading south towards Vardzia. After about 15 km, look for signs directing you to Khertvisi Fortress and turn onto the access road. The fortress is located about 5 km off the main road. There is a parking area near the fortress, and no fees are required for parking.

Public Transportation
To reach Khertvisi Fortress via public transportation, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Akhaltsikhe to Vardzia. Marshrutkas leave regularly from the central bus station in Akhaltsikhe. After approximately 30 minutes, ask the driver to let you off at the Khertvisi Fortress stop. From there, it’s a short walk (about 1 km) to the fortress entrance. The fare for the marshrutka is typically around 1 GEL.

If you are in the nearby area and wish to walk, you can approach Khertvisi Fortress from the village of Khertvisi. The fortress is located about 1.5 km from the village center.
