Car

From the center of Akhaltsikhe, take the E60 highway towards Akhalkalaki. Continue on the E60 for approximately 40 kilometers. You will pass through scenic landscapes and small villages. As you approach Akhalkalaki, follow the signs for Vardzia Resort, which is located near the village of Kartsakhi. The resort's address is Akhalkalaki-Kartsakhi. Expect to spend about an hour on this drive, depending on traffic conditions.

Public Transportation

From Tbilisi, take a marshrutka (minibus) to Akhaltsikhe, which typically departs from the Didube Bus Station. The journey takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and costs around 15-20 GEL. Once in Akhaltsikhe, transfer to another marshrutka heading to Akhalkalaki. This leg of the journey will take approximately 40 minutes and cost around 5 GEL. After arriving in Akhalkalaki, you can take a taxi to Vardzia Resort, which is about a 15-20 minute ride costing around 15-20 GEL.

If you are already in Akhaltsikhe or Akhalkalaki, you can hire a taxi directly to Vardzia Resort. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should range between 15-20 GEL from Akhalkalaki and slightly more from Akhaltsikhe. The ride will take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and road conditions.
