Walking
From Juta village, the trailhead to Chaukhi Pass is well-marked. Follow the path near the Fifth Season Lodge. The hike to the pass typically takes 3-4 hours. The path is initially flat but becomes steep and challenging as you ascend. Hiking sticks are recommended for assistance. Be prepared for river crossings and steep slopes. There are limited facilities, so carry enough water and snacks.
Public Transport
To reach Juta, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Tbilisi to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) for approximately 10 GEL. The ride takes about 2-3 hours. From Stepantsminda, arrange a taxi or local guide to Juta, which is around 30 minutes away and costs 30-50 GEL. From Juta, the hike to Chaukhi Pass begins.
