The Okatse Canyon Visitor Centre is your starting point for exploring one of Georgia's most stunning natural attractions. Located near the village of Zeda-Gordy, about 42km northwest of Kutaisi, the canyon boasts a dramatic landscape carved by the Okatse River. Once a hidden gem, the canyon has been developed to include a 780-meter hanging trail and viewing platform that juts out over the center of the gorge, offering breathtaking views. The adventure begins at the visitor center, where you can purchase tickets and learn about the canyon's geology, flora, and fauna. From there, a 2.5km hike (or a short jeep ride) through the historic Dadiani forest leads to the canyon itself. Along the way, you can see the ruins of the 18th-century Dadiani princes' palace. The highlight is the 700m-long suspended walkway, which clings to the canyon walls and provides thrilling views of the 100m-deep gorge below. The walkway culminates in a viewing platform suspended over the canyon, perfect for photos and bird watching.
