Start your journey at the Freedom Square (Erti Kheliani), which is a central location in Tbilisi. From Freedom Square, head northwest on Rustaveli Avenue towards the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre. Continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Shota Rustaveli Avenue and walk until you reach the intersection with Aghmashenebeli Avenue. Turn right onto Aghmashenebeli Avenue and continue until you see the Funicular Railway station on your left. Take the Funicular up to Mtatsminda Park, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city.

Once at Mtatsminda Park, follow the signs towards the Azeula Fortress. As you walk through the park, you will encounter various attractions. Stay on the main path and head towards the eastern side of the park, where the fortress is located. You may need to ask locals for directions as you get closer, as the path can be less defined. Continue until you see the fortress structure on the hill.

If you prefer public transport, you can take the Metro from any central station (e.g., Rustaveli Metro Station). Take the Metro to the Avlabari Station. From Avlabari, exit the station and head towards the Narikala Fortress, which is a short walk away. Once you are at Narikala, follow the signs to Azeula Fortress, which is located nearby. You can also take a taxi (or use a ride-hailing app) from Avlabari to Azeula Fortress directly if you prefer.
