Walking
From the center of Mtskheta, near Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, head north towards the Aragvi River. Cross the bridge over the river, then turn left and walk along the riverbank. Samtavro Convent will be visible on your right, a short distance from the bridge. The walk is generally easy and takes about 10-15 minutes.
Public Transport
If arriving in Mtskheta by marshrutka (minibus) from Tbilisi, disembark near the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. From there, follow the walking directions to reach Samtavro Convent. The marshrutka from Tbilisi's Didube station costs approximately 2 GEL. Alternatively, you can take a train from Tbilisi to Mtskheta, but the train station is located 1.5km from the city center. From the train station, you can take a marshrutka or taxi to reach the convent.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Mtskheta. A short taxi ride from anywhere in the city center to Samtavro Convent should cost approximately 5-10 GEL. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey. Ride-sharing apps like Bolt are also available.
