Getting There

• Public Bus

  From the center of Tbilisi, head to the Didube bus station, which is accessible via the Metro. Take the Metro to Didube station, then follow the signs to the bus terminal. Look for buses heading towards Mtskheta or specifically to Naduknari. The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach Naduknari. Once you arrive, Kvetera Fortress is about a 15-minute walk uphill from the bus stop. Follow the road signs or ask locals for directions to the fortress.

• Marshrutka (Minibus)

  From Rustaveli Avenue, walk to the Liberty Square metro station and take the Metro to Didube. At Didube, find the marshrutka stop and look for marshrutkas heading towards Mtskheta. Board a marshrutka that indicates Naduknari as a stop. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival in Naduknari, you'll need to walk uphill to reach Kvetera Fortress, which is about a 15-minute walk. Follow the main road and keep an eye out for local signage or ask for assistance from residents.

• Taxi / Ride-Sharing

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider using a taxi or a ride-sharing app like Bolt or Yandex. Simply enter Kvetera Fortress as your destination. The drive from the center of Tbilisi to the fortress should take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they know the location before departing.

• Walking / Hiking

  For the adventurous, you can hike to Kvetera Fortress from Tbilisi. Start from the Old Town and make your way towards Mtskheta. It's a long trek, about 15 km (9 miles), so wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Follow the river towards Mtskheta, and then ask for directions to Naduknari. The last part involves a steep hike up to the fortress, which offers splendid views of the surrounding area.
