Car
From Vardzia, head northwest on the main road (E117) towards Aspindza. After approximately 5 km, you will see signs for Khertvisi Fortress on your left. Turn onto the side road and continue for about 1 km until you reach the fortress entrance. The road is well-marked, but be cautious of any potholes. There is no entrance fee to access the fortress.

Public Transportation
To reach Khertvisi Fortress from Vardzia using public transportation, you will need to take a minibus or a taxi. Head to the Vardzia minibus station and catch a minibus heading towards Aspindza. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Khertvisi Fortress. The journey will take around 15-20 minutes. The fare should be around 2-3 GEL. After disembarking, walk about 1 km to the fortress entrance, following the signs. Ensure to check the return schedule to avoid being stranded.
