Perched at an altitude of 2,050 meters on the Osterfelderkopf, a sub-summit of the Alpspitze, the AlpspiX viewing platform is an unmissable attraction in the Garmisch-Classic area. Inaugurated in July 2010, this bold steel structure features two intersecting walkways that form a distinctive 'X' shape, hence the name, which combines 'Alpspitze' and 'X'.
Each arm of the AlpspiX extends 24 meters, with 13 meters hovering dramatically over the abyss of the Höllental valley. The walkways are constructed with gratings, providing a transparent floor that allows visitors to gaze directly into the depths below. At the end of each arm, a slanted glass panel offers an unobstructed panoramic view, amplifying the sensation of floating in the air.
