After securing sponsors and founding the Breitachklammverein eG (Breitachklamm society), the first blasting operations commenced on July 25, 1904. A year later, on July 4, 1905, the Breitachklamm was officially inaugurated, opening its doors to visitors from far and wide. Over the years, the Breitachklamm has become one of the most popular attractions in the Allgäu region, drawing over 300,000 visitors annually.
