Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Mittenwald in the Bavarian Alps. From Garmisch-Partenkirchen, take the B2 road heading north. After approximately 20 km, turn left onto the Bocksteigweg road towards Mittenwald. Follow the signs to Mittenwald, where you can find parking options. The nearest parking area to Hoher Kranzberg is at the Kranzberg cable car station, where you can park your car (parking fees may apply).
Public Transportation
To reach Hoher Kranzberg via public transportation, take a train to Mittenwald. From Munich, you can catch a regional train (RE) to Mittenwald, which takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival at Mittenwald station, exit the train and walk to the bus stop just outside the station. Take bus line 6 towards 'Kranzberg' and get off at the 'Kranzberg' stop. From there, follow the signs to the Kranzberg cable car station.
Cable Car
Once you reach the Kranzberg cable car station in Mittenwald, purchase a ticket for the cable car ride to the summit of Hoher Kranzberg. The cable car operates during the summer and winter seasons, so check the schedule beforehand. The ride offers stunning views of the surrounding Alps and takes about 10 minutes. After reaching the top, you can enjoy panoramic views and hiking trails around Hoher Kranzberg.
Hiking
If you prefer a more active approach, you can hike from the Kranzberg cable car station to Hoher Kranzberg. The hike is approximately 1.5 km and takes about 30-45 minutes. Follow the marked hiking trails, which lead you through beautiful alpine scenery. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water.
