If you are traveling by car, take the A95 autobahn from Munich towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After approximately 80 kilometers, take the exit for B2 towards Mittenwald. Continue on B2 for about 13 kilometers until you reach Mittenwald. Once in the town, follow the signs to 'Altstadt' (Old Town). You can park at the public parking areas near the old town, such as the Parkhaus Mittenwald (Hochstraße 2-14, 82481 Mittenwald). Note that parking fees may apply.

For those using public transportation, take an RE (Regional Express) train from Munich Hauptbahnhof (main station) to Mittenwald. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours with a change in either Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Oberau, depending on the schedule. Once you arrive at Mittenwald train station, it's a short 10-minute walk to the old town. Exit the station, head south on Bahnhofstraße, then turn left onto Wiesenstraße, which leads directly into the old town.

If you're already in a nearby town, you can use regional buses to reach Mittenwald. For example, from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, take bus line 9606, which runs frequently to Mittenwald. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Mittenwald bus station, the old town is just a 5-minute walk away. Follow the signs directing you to the 'Altstadt' area.
