The museum also has a library.The Salzburg Museum is housed within the Neue Residenz, a historical building itself, enhancing the visitor experience. The museum's innovative approach blends valuable art objects, aesthetic presentations, interesting facts, and multimedia installations to create a harmonious and engaging environment.Currently, the Salzburg Museum is undergoing extensive renovations and expansion, with a planned reopening in spring 2027. The renovated museum will also house the "Belvedere Salzburg" in cooperation with the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere. In 2025, a new building at the historic Orangery of Mirabell Palace will open as the new home of the "Sattler Panorama".
