Car
If you're traveling by car, start from any location in Altbayern and navigate to the A7 highway. Head south towards Füssen. Continue on the A7 until you reach the exit for Füssen (Exit 139). Follow the signs towards Schwangau. Once in Schwangau, follow Neuschwansteinstraße, which will lead you directly to Neuschwanstein Castle. There is a parking lot available near the castle, and parking fees may apply (approximately €6 for the day).

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a train from your location in Altbayern to Füssen. The regional trains operated by DB (Deutsche Bahn) connect most towns in the region to Füssen. Once you arrive at Füssen train station, exit the station and look for bus line 73 or 78, which goes directly to Hohenschwangau, the village near Neuschwanstein Castle. The bus ride will take about 10-15 minutes. A single ticket for the bus costs approximately €3.50. After arriving in Hohenschwangau, follow the signs to the castle, which is about a 30-minute walk uphill.
