Benneckscher Hof: A Glimpse into Staßfurt's Past

Benneckscher Hof, or von Schladensches Haus, is a noteworthy, heritage-listed estate nestled in the heart of Staßfurt. This architectural gem provides visitors with a delightful immersion into the region's history and culture. The grand two-story main building, constructed in the Baroque style, was initially known as the Stadtpalais von Schladen/Hackeborn. Its facade features sixteen bays and is topped with a Mansard hipped roof. To the east stands a two-and-a-half-story servants' house, also aligned with the street. This plastered building dates back to the 19th century and once displayed classical-style rustication, cornices, and diamond friezes, fragments of which remain. The rooms of the so-called Mittelganghaus are accessed via a central corridor. Benneckscher Hof is more than just a place to observe; it's a space to connect with the stories woven into its walls.
