Kur Park, nestled in the charming seaside resort of Warnemünde, Rostock, offers a serene retreat from urban life. This picturesque state park boasts beautifully maintained gardens, peaceful walking paths, and tranquil ponds, creating an ideal setting for relaxation and reflection. Since the 19th century, Kur Park has been a popular destination for health and leisure. The park's origins trace back to 1795, with initial planting attempts, but it was in 1860 when Alexander Louis Wachtler, a Rostock merchant, began the park's development. The park was once larger, but sections were gradually reduced as the town expanded. However, in 1999, efforts began to reclaim some of the lost green spaces. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, admire diverse flora and fauna, and find benches and picnic areas throughout the park. A playground and sports field provide recreation. The adjacent Kurhausgarten features a fountain, sculptures, and a concert stage. The park also has a John-Brinkmann-Statue and a book exchange. Kur Park is a cherished space with a rich heritage, offering a blend of nature, recreation, and historical ambiance.
