From Berchtesgaden, take bus line 846 towards Ramsau/Hintersee. The bus ride takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Ramsau Neuhausenbrücke bus stop. From there, it's a short walk to the start of the Malerweg. Bus tickets cost around €2-3 for a one-way trip.

If you are in the center of Ramsau, the Malerweg is easily accessible by foot. Follow the signs towards Hintersee and the Zauberwald. The trail starts near the Parish Church of St. Sebastian.
