Getting There

• U-Bahn

  If you're starting from Alexanderplatz, take the U-Bahn line U8 (the yellow line) towards Wittenau. After 3 stops, get off at the stop 'Bernauer Straße'. Transfer to the U-Bahn line U2 (the blue line) towards Ruhleben. After 5 stops, get off at the stop 'Friedrichstraße'. From Friedrichstraße, it's a 10-minute walk to Bertolt-Brecht-Platz. Exit the station and head south on Friedrichstraße. When you reach the intersection with Unter den Linden, turn right. Continue straight until you reach Bertolt-Brecht-Platz.

• Tram

  If you're near Potsdamer Platz, take tram line M41 towards Sonnenallee. Ride for 4 stops to 'S+U Potsdamer Platz'. From here, transfer to tram line M85 towards S+U Warschauer Straße. After 5 stops, get off at 'S+U Friedrichstraße'. Walk from the tram stop for about 8 minutes heading north along Friedrichstraße until you reach Bertolt-Brecht-Platz.

• Bus

  If you are near the Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station), take bus line 147 towards 'S+U Alexanderplatz'. Ride for 3 stops and get off at 'S+U Friedrichstraße'. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk north along Friedrichstraße. Continue walking straight until you arrive at Bertolt-Brecht-Platz. It's a short and straightforward route.

• Walking

  If you're already in Mitte, the Berliner Ensemble is easy to reach by walking. From the Brandenburg Gate, head east on Unter den Linden towards Friedrichstraße. Once you reach Friedrichstraße, turn left and walk for about 15 minutes. You'll see Bertolt-Brecht-Platz on your right. The theater is located directly adjacent to the river Spree, making it a scenic walk.
