Dive Into Germany's Rich History at the German Historical Museum

Getting There

• Public Transport - U-Bahn

  If you are near an U-Bahn station, take the U6 line towards Alt-Mariendorf. Change at Friedrichstraße station to the S-Bahn. From Friedrichstraße, take the S3, S5, S7, or S9 towards Spandau or Westkreuz. Get off at the next stop, which is 'Unter den Linden'. From there, it's a short walk to the German Historical Museum. Head east on Unter den Linden for about 5 minutes until you reach the museum at Unter den Linden 2.

• Public Transport - Bus

  Locate the nearest bus stop and take bus number 200 towards Zoologischer Garten. Alight at the stop 'Unter den Linden/Französische Straße'. Once you get off, walk towards Unter den Linden. The German Historical Museum will be on your left at Unter den Linden 2, about a 3-minute walk from the bus stop.

• Walking

  If you are in the area around Brandenburg Gate or Alexanderplatz, you can walk to the museum. From Brandenburg Gate, head east on Unter den Linden for about 1 km. The German Historical Museum will be on your left at Unter den Linden 2. If walking from Alexanderplatz, head west on Alexanderstraße, which turns into Unter den Linden, and continue straight until you reach the museum.

• Tram

  If you are near a tram stop, take tram line M5 towards Hohenschönhausen. Change at 'Friedrichstraße' to either the U-Bahn or S-Bahn. From Friedrichstraße, follow the previous guidance to get to 'Unter den Linden'. Alternatively, take tram line M1 towards Oranienburger Tor, which will also bring you close to the museum. Alight at 'Unter den Linden' stop and walk to the museum.
