If you're driving, head towards Freiburg im Breisgau. Use the A5 motorway and take the exit towards Freiburg-Mitte. Once you exit, follow the signs for Stadtmitte (City Center). As you approach the city center, look for signs directing you towards Kanonenplatz. There is limited parking available nearby, so plan to park at a public parking facility like Parkhaus am Rathaus. From the parking garage, it's a short walk to Kanonenplatz.

To reach Kanonenplatz using public transport, start by taking a regional train (RE) to Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main station). Once you arrive at the station, exit and find the tram stop just outside. Take tram line 1 or 3 towards the city center. Get off at the 'Schwarzwaldstraße' stop. From there, it is a pleasant 10-minute walk: head northwest on Schwarzwaldstraße, then turn left onto Rotteckring, and finally, follow the signs to Kanonenplatz. The scenic views are well worth the short walk!

If you are already in Freiburg and prefer walking, you can easily reach Kanonenplatz. Start from the central square (Marktplatz) and head southwest towards the university area. Follow the path up the hill towards the historical monument. The walk takes about 20 minutes, and you'll enjoy beautiful views of the city as you ascend. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path is slightly steep in parts.
