Oberkasseler Bridge: A Scenic Gateway in Düsseldorf

Getting There

• Train

  If you are in Cologne, head to the nearest S-Bahn station (for example, Köln Hauptbahnhof). Purchase a ticket to Düsseldorf. Take the S11 or S6 towards Düsseldorf. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, follow the signs for the 'U-Bahn' (underground). Take U-Bahn line U74, U76, or U77 towards 'Oberkassel'. Get off at the 'Oberkasseler Brücke' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the bridge.

• Bus

  From the city center of Cologne, go to the bus station at 'Köln ZOB' (central bus station). Board a bus towards Düsseldorf. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Düsseldorf central bus station, take the tram line 707 towards 'Oberkassel'. Get off at the 'Oberkasseler Brücke' stop. The bridge will be a short walk from the stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing services available in Cologne. Head towards the Rhine River and follow the bike path along the river towards Düsseldorf. The ride takes about an hour, depending on your speed. Follow the signs to Oberkasseler Brücke once you reach Düsseldorf.

• Walking

  Walking from Cologne to Düsseldorf is quite far (approximately 40 km), but if you're up for a long hike, head towards the Rhine River and follow it north. It's a scenic route, but it will take several hours. Once you reach Düsseldorf, look for signs directing you to Oberkasseler Brücke.
