Getting there

Walking

If you are in the Altstadt (Old Town) area, head towards the Rhine River. From the Rhine promenade, walk east along the river until you reach the Burgplatz (Burg Square). The Schifffahrtsmuseum is located directly in the square at Burgpl. 30. It should take about 10-15 minutes to walk from the riverfront.

Public Transport - Tram

If you are near the Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take Tram Line 701, 703, or 704 from the station towards 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee'. Get off at the 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee' stop. From there, walk towards the Rhine River and follow the riverbank to Burgplatz (Burg Square). The Schifffahrtsmuseum will be at Burgpl. 30. The tram ride will take about 10 minutes, and the walk will add another 5 minutes.

Public Transport - Bus

If you are close to the 'Königsallee' shopping street, you can catch Bus Line 726 at 'Königsallee' bus stop towards 'Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof'. Get off at the 'Burgplatz' bus stop. The Schifffahrtsmuseum is just a short walk from the bus stop at Burgpl. 30. The total journey will take around 15 minutes.

Walking

From the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (theater), walk towards the Rhine River. Once you reach the river, turn right and walk along the promenade until you reach the Burgplatz (Burg Square). The Schifffahrtsmuseum is located at Burgpl. 30. This walk will take approximately 15 minutes.
