Car
From Eagle's Nest, drive towards Berchtesgaden on B305. Follow the signs for Königssee. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach Schönau am Königssee, look for parking options near the lake. The closest parking lot is located at Parkplatz Königssee (N47.5505, E13.0083). Parking fees are around €5 for a day.
Public Transportation
Take Bus 838 from Berchtesgaden to Schönau am Königssee. The bus departs from the main station and the ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Schönau am Königssee bus stop, head towards the lake and follow the signs for the Röthbach Waterfall trail. There is no direct public transport to the waterfall, so you'll need to hike the trail from the lake.
Hiking
After reaching Königssee, take the ferry to St. Bartholomew's Church (approx. €10 round trip). From there, follow the marked hiking trail towards Röthbach Waterfall. The hike is about 2.5 km one way and takes approximately 1.5 hours. Expect a moderately challenging path with beautiful views along the way.
