Walking
If you're starting from the Essen central train station (Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head towards Gladbecker Str. Take a left and walk straight for about 10 minutes. As you walk, you will pass the main shopping street, Altendorfer Str., on your right. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Kettwiger Str. Turn right onto Kettwiger Str. and walk for about 5 minutes. You will see Burgplatz ahead on your left, a prominent town square in the heart of Essen.

Public Transport - Tram
From the Essen central train station (Hauptbahnhof), head to the tram station located just outside the main entrance. Take tram line 101 or 106 towards 'Gelsenkirchen' or 'Kettwig' respectively. Get off at the 'Kettwiger Tor' stop, which takes about 4 minutes. Once you exit the tram, walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will see Burgplatz on your right, situated in a lively area with shops and cafes.

If you prefer taking a bus, from the Essen central train station (Hauptbahnhof), locate the bus terminal outside the station. Take bus line 140 towards 'Kettwig' and get off at 'Moltkeplatz'. This journey takes approximately 10 minutes. From Moltkeplatz, walk straight for about 7 minutes along Altendorfer Str. until you reach Burgplatz, which you will find on your left.
