From Essen Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take the S6 or S1 train towards Düsseldorf. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and follow the signs to the 'U-Bahn' (subway) station. Take the U78 or U79 tram towards 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee'. Get off at the 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee' stop. From there, walk towards the Rhine River, which is about a 10-minute walk. You will see the Rheintreppe (Rhein Steps) along the riverside promenade.

After exiting the tram, head towards the Rhine River, which is approximately a 10-minute walk. You will arrive at Rheintreppe along the riverside promenade.
