Walking
From the Old Main Bridge (Alte Mainbrücke), follow the signs uphill towards Marienberg Fortress (Festung Marienberg). The walk takes approximately 20-30 minutes and offers scenic views of the city. Once inside the fortress courtyard, the entrance to the Fürstengarten is located to the left of the Marienkirche portal. Note that the path is steep in places.
Public Transport
From Würzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take bus line 9 towards 'Festung' (operates April to October only). The bus stops directly at the fortress entrance. From there, enter the fortress courtyard, and the Fürstengarten entrance is to the left of the Marienkirche portal. A single bus fare is approximately €2.60.
Driving
Drive towards Marienberg Fortress via Höchberger Straße and Oberen Burgweg. Paid parking is available near the fortress entrance. Parking fees are approximately €5 per day. From the parking area, enter the fortress courtyard, and the Fürstengarten entrance is to the left of the Marienkirche portal.
