Train
From Frankfurt, head to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Take the S8 or S9 S-Bahn train towards Mainz. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at Mainz Hauptbahnhof. From there, exit the station and walk towards the bus terminal outside the station. Board bus number 6 towards 'Zitadellenweg' and get off at the stop 'Zitadellenweg'. The Roman Theatre will be a short walk from the bus stop.
Bus
From Frankfurt, make your way to the bus station at Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. Take a regional bus (such as FlixBus or another local provider) that heads towards Mainz. The bus ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Mainz, look for local bus number 6 that will take you towards 'Zitadellenweg'. Get off at the 'Zitadellenweg' stop, and the Roman Theatre will be within walking distance.
Tram
Travel from Frankfurt to Mainz by taking the S-Bahn to Mainz Hauptbahnhof. Once there, transfer to tram line 50 towards 'Binger Str.' and get off at the 'Zitadellenweg' stop. The Roman Theatre is located a short distance from the tram stop.
Walking from Mainz Hauptbahnhof
If you prefer to walk from Mainz Hauptbahnhof, exit the train station and head south on 'Bahnhofstraße'. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach 'Zitadellenweg'. The Roman Theatre will be on your right. This is a pleasant walk through the city.
